e-Connect SP4/ATS4 certified!
EL.MO. cloud platform increases its security.
Fundamental for every security system is the transmission of the occurred events, notifying the alarm to an external receiver.
The most common methods to date are:
- Voice: through PSTN telephone line or the GSM module.
- SMS: via GSM module.
- ID-Contact: through PSTN telephone line or GSM module (communication dedicated to security firms).
- Mail or Push notification: through the proprietary Cloud (eg e-Connect).
- Dedicated radio link: through a specific device provided by the security firm.
The reference standard EN50131 classifies communications based on the security degree of the transmissions:

In the last period we are witnessing a migration in events receiving methods by security firms: the employment of the standard communication protocol SIA DC-09, better known as "ID-Contact on IP". The main reasons for this change can be traced back to:
- Obsolescence of telephone lines (digital lines are replacing analogue ones).
- Evolution of telecommunications (from ADSL on copper → to Fiber, from GPRS → to 4G/5G).
- Greater security in transmissions (possibility to encrypt the transmitted data).
e-Connect communication protocol has been certified by the international accreditated certification body IMQ with:
- SP4 performance level according to EN50136-1: 2013
- ATS4 according to EN50131-1: 2009.
This certification allows to design security systems certified EN50131 grade 3 and CEI79-3 performance level 3, by using e-Connect as a remote notifying service.
The performance level can now be set by the installer, by selecting the notification delay of the control panel disconnection event on the system configuration page.
By setting the notification delay at 1 minute, the e-Connect communication protocol is certified by IMQ to SP4/ATS4 level, while with the other settings the protocol complies to SP3/ATS3 level.
